Beer, wine dinners

John Marino, owner and brewmaster of Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, will cohost a dinner at The Palm June 1 and guide diners through beer pairings. Those will include OMB Dunkel Dark with choice of barbecued beef ribs, blackened sea bass or filet mignon. $90 plus tax and tip; reservations to Leigh Whicker, 704-552-7450.

Vivace hosts a Wine Vault dinner June 5 with Vitanza Winery: $69 for five courses, including grilled mahi with sundried tomato and olive gnocchi and Volare Sangiovese, and braised short ribs with Rosso di Montalcino. Reservations: 704-548-9463; restaurant is at 1100 Metropolitan Ave.
