Prices have gone way up (and yes, they've gone up everywhere, but moreso at HC) and quality is terrible, especially compared to years past. The few times I've been in the past few years depressed me more than anything -- the food was bad, the place was empty... It was just a shadow of its former self.

I want to say I'm sorry to see it go, but really, it went a long time ago.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4237032788800605198.post-9351272613909384842011-01-28T23:30:15.879-05:002011-01-28T23:30:15.879-05:00I am a native of the Cotswold area, Hotel Charlott...I am a native of the Cotswold area, Hotel Charlotte has been a long time hang out for my family and me. We used to go to HC once a month, but over the years it became once ever six months.

The last time I went, 2 months ago, the food was average (not what I was expecting for a $50 tab) and the server, who you could tell hated her job, served me water with ants in it. No joke.

It's a shame the last memory of that place was my poor experience.

The restaurateurs can whine about "the economy" or "the recession" but when an eatery closes its because of the the establishment itself. I remember that you had to stand in line for a table and the place was "packed". Probably the passing of Danny's wife, and then Danny, and the advent of so many other places to eat slowly brought Hotel Charlotte to it's knees. SAM, the enduring anchor of Hotel Charlotte, hopefully with support, will be able to resurrect the mystique that was once "Hotel Charlotte".Scotthttp://www.LeadDogRealty.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4237032788800605198.post-3957710486797637742011-01-28T19:58:18.929-05:002011-01-28T19:58:18.929-05:00Everything dies at some point in time.Everything dies at some point in time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4237032788800605198.post-40003119359408099222011-01-28T19:46:31.103-05:002011-01-28T19:46:31.103-05:00Oh to have one more creole platter.
