Georges open

Georges Brasserie at Piedmont Town Center (formerly the Oceanaire) is open, serving what its folks call a "modern version of traditional French comfort cuisine." Andrew Perno, who has put in time at Thomas Keller's Bouchon in Vegas, is chef, and the place is serving dinner Monday-Saturday and Sunday brunch. 4620 Piedmont Row Drive; 980-219-7409.

Last Friday, I took my family to the Piedmont Town Center to eat at Brio. When we pulled into the center, we saw that a new restaurant called Georges Brasserie opened so we decided to give it a try instead. Having been to Oceanaire before, I was interested to see what this new concept was about. When we walked in, we were amazed at the transformation. I loved the eclectic atmosphere which had a nice blend of contemporary design. The staff was really inviting and warming....but what amazed me the most about Georges Brasserie was the FOOD!!!! The food was amazing!!!! The onion soup was the best I ever had bar none! We also had the delicious and hardy jumbo crabcake, bibb lettuce, braised lamb shank which was fall of the bone, the hanger steak with the incredible blue cheese butter sauce and sweet and tangy white wine mussels. For desert, we had the chocolate cake with ice cream which had a surprisingly warm chocolate center. All in all, my family and I had a delightful dining experience and I strongly suggest to everyone to try out Georges Brasserie!!!
