Bits and crumbs

The Palm looks to National Lobster Day (June 15) with exceptional fervor -- offering a fixed-price lobster dinner for $54.90 -- and a two-person deal for $99 -- June 1-Aug. 31. 6705-B Phillips Place Court (with a new outdoor patio); Phillips Place; 704-552-7256.

Zebra’s summer menu just started, including chilled tomato water soup, melon panna cotta and poached trout with L.A. farmers market baby vegetables (chef-owner Jim Alexander notes: “farm to market in 24 hours, another 12 hours to Zebra”). 4521 Sharon Road; 704-442-9525.

New on the menu at Sir Edmond Halley's: pan-seared trout, beef medallions, blackened cod tacos, Thai beef nachos and smoked salmon BLT, among other items. 4151 Park Road; 704-525-7775.

nice to see the changes at Sir Ed's. On my last visit, I thought I was at more of a vegetarian restaurant than and English pub.
