Zink will close after Feb. 24, the Harper's Restaurant Group said today, with owner Tom Sasser saying the place couldn't gain a strong foothold at the location at 4310 Sharon Road -- the restaurant's second (the first was in the IJL building uptown, from which a bank branch bumped it). Chuy's, an Austin-based Tex-Mex chain, is expected to take the spot. Zink dishes will show up at siblings Harper's, Upstream and Mimosa Grill, Sasser said. Steve Seitz of the Harper's group said the company is considering other locations in the Carolinas.
Whether to announce a closing date is a challenging decision; Seitz said the group wanted to give people a chance to say goodbye to a strong staff. 704-375-9715; www.harpersrestaurants.com.

Please open a Harpers near Stonecrest. I looooooooove the chicken tenders.
It's eight miles from Stonecrest to SouthPark. Don't hold your beath on a Harper's down there.
Plus there's one at Carolina Place Mall.
Can't say I'm surprised. Zink was overpriced for the portion size you received.
But maybe people in Southpark expect that.
Whoooo!!!! The nature boy loves home Zinks! this Stinks!
What a shame. The dishes had depth of flavor and where nicely executed. However, I have to agree the portion for the price and the drink prices were what removed them from my list of "go to" eateries. Too bad they were bumped from downtown. That was a good location for them.
Zink changed when it moved from downtown. Menu items were not as good. If they reopen bring back the ild Zink and have sushi!
Couldn't hack it next to Cowfish. Not a surprise.
They need to reopen Harper's ToGoGo. I loved that place. Wore it out.
Zink catered to the Uptown lunch crowd......
