Johnny Burrito at 301 S. Tryon St. has cut its prices in the wake of the 1% N.C. sales tax increase, so as to keep the diner's price for meals (11 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays) the same, and plans to keep that going through the end of the year. The place offers a suggestion, too: Pay in cash, and it can make up the reduction in saved credit/debit fees, to say nothing of the saving of thermal paper! 704-371-4448.

Ah, the home of the $7.00 burrito. If it saves them money if I pay in cash, they should pass the discount on to me. Salsarita's right down the hallway in Overstreet Mall is almost $2.00 cheaper for the same exact product. Don't know why they're so expensive.
Same exact product...hardly. JB's burritos are excellent, and Salsarita's are average at best. If paying cash can keep a local/small business owner in business (as opposed to a chain like Salsarita's), I will pay in cash, coins, or IOUs if I have to. I will gladly pay $2 more for a burrito at JB to get a better quality product that tastes good. No contest here, JB wins hands down. If you don't want to pay in cash, simply use your card...it is allowed.
