City Tavern at SouthPark

Look for a new City Tavern at SouthPark, in the former San Antonio's Modern Mexican spot (formerly Morton's), by Dick’s Sporting Goods and McCormick & Schmick’s. Plans call for entrees to range from about $12-$24, and for construction to begin this month, with the place opening in March.

I'm usually pretty open to giving most new restaurants more than one chance. However, I'm shocked San Antonio's lasted that long. The service was decent however it was some of the most bland tex-mex food I've ever had.

City Tavern may last longer but I haven't been impressed with their other locations. It's overpriced average food.

Sad to say that the food is very average. No enthusiasm from the kitchen.

Dang. I'm late! When did San Antonio's close. I was just there in mid December. I have to admit that I hated when they went with the laid back looked. I enjoyed seeing the pretty girls with nice skirts on and the candle lit tables. I knew something was wrong when they were not offering $1.00 margaritas anymore.

So glad City Tavern is coming back to its original neighborhood. Can't wait! Most consistent place in town!

Thank goodness that awful restaurant finally closed. San Antonio's was such an awful place....from the service, food, and drinks. YUCK!

Here's hoping that City Tavern is at least a little better?!
