New pizza place at uptown market

Pure Pizza holds its grand opening 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today (May 2) at the 7th Street Public Market at 255 E. 7th St. Calling itself "Charlotte’s only Farm-2-Fork Pizzeria," the place uses "a special mix of ancient grains" (yes, that does sound like Peter Reinhart, who is listed as chef) in the dough and locally sourced toppings. There'll be live music 6-9 p.m. and beer specials, too. www.purepizzaclt.com is the website, but you'll find more info (like the photo here) on its Facebook page here.

Well, if that burnt looking pile of garbage is any indication, I think I'll pass.

Thank you.

Personally, I'm happy to see more healthy choices and will support the market any way that I can!

I hope Joe Guidice isn't the owner. It will be foreclosed within 3 months

Maybe people shouldn't complain and support the local economy in anyway we can - kudos to small businesses who are trying to get started - i think its great to see!

Really expensive for what you get. I guess it's "fine dining" pizza.

$10 Pizza and a salad. Locally sourced organic ingredients. Classic white, Sprouted grain, and gluten free crust options that come out light and bubbly. Whats not to love? No Farms No Food, buy local!

The pizza was amazing - you can tell the difference in farm fresh vs the "other guys". I can never go back to the other stuff!
(Im a friend on Facebook and the picture looks much better than a second btw)

Confused on how a pizza is ever really that healthy. Healthy does not equate to great pizza. Unless it doesn't have dough or cheese.

The pizza is really good. The morons commenting here can go and have all the pizza hut "pizza" they want, leave the real stuff for me! Plus uptown is probably too big and scary for the morons anyways....

How many failed pizza places from Peter Reinhart do we have to endure?

Hey Anonymous,

We use NC milled organic grains for our 3 doughs, & we don't add sugar or any other sweeteners like many pizza restaurants do. Additional, we use an organic low sodium sauce made for us by a friend of our chef, Peter Reinhart. Our cheeses are low fat coming from grass feed cows. And most of our toppings come directly from our local farming community practicing.

Would love for you to come check us out! If you're not satisfied then the pizza is one me.

Juli

As someone who has actually tasted the pizza I have to say it is really good pizza! I suggest sitting down and munching on this stuff to really find out how good it is.

We came here for our wedding anniversary & enjoyed this new place in town. Lovely food with excellent service always attentive without being intrusive. My husband and I are a big fan of their pizza! Legit!
