American Roadside Burgers plans to open two Charlotte locations in 2011 -- uptown and SouthPark -- expanding what the company calls "a tribute to the American roadside hamburger stands of the past" from its Smithtown, N.Y., origin. Look for burgers of beef, turkey and veggie, along with chicken sandwiches, wings and salads, and a decor that aims at a "made in America" feel. The first ARB will be in the Ally Bank building at 440 S. Church St., and is slated to open mid-fall, with the second "late" in the year. Info: www.americanroadside.com.
