Yes, Manzetti's is closed

Manzetti's is closed, and the company hopes to open its new venture, San Antonio's Modern Mexican, in the former Morton's spot near SouthPark about May 5. Rumors that Manzetti's was closing had floated for some time, but were denied by the company. On the menu for the new place: $1 house margaritas "ALL DAY EVERY DAY." Among dishes: red chili salmon, chicken taquitos, burgers, South Texas ribs and more. 4331 Barclay Downs Drive; 704-364-9334.

No surprise there. The last time I went a year and half ago the food was worse than I would expect from Applebee's and the service was hardly better.

WHAT! I am so sad.

I am sad as well. They had great steaks and salads. What's up with all these mexican restaurants! I think Catina 1511 is going to move in where the old Manzetta's was.

I didn't care for it. I can't believe no one has commented on the $1 margarita's, that's the real story here!!!

BUT, will the $1 margarita's be served by scantilly clad waitresses?

nothing beats cantina 1511!

$1 margaritas served by scantilly clad waitresses will be an easy win over cantina 1511!

i dont believe scantily clad waitresses were ever a part of this equation. cantina ftw!

I heard it's a new Tex-Mex concept from the folks at Cantina/Big Daddy's/Mama Ricotta's to be called Paco Taco or something like that. Should be great.

Taco Mac is also coming to Southpark but it is a sportsbar with 80+ TV's and 140 beers on tap not a Mexican place. They are a big deal in Atlanta.
