Coming up: Pizza Fusion at Metropolitan

Pizza Fusion, which bills itself as "a socially responsible restaurant chain passionate about organic pizza making," plans to open in September at The Metropolitan in midtown, at 1055 Metropolitan Ave. (around the corner from Trader Joe's). Look for salads, appetizers, sandwiches and desserts, in addition to the pies, and "trendy, eco-friendly design elements consistent with its do-good, eat good mantra." Pizzas range from classics to vegan and gluten-free forms, and its press says the chain endeavors to get local produce at each location (which are built to LEED certification standards, by the way).
